Macro Fun on the Olympus E-M1

It’s been a while since I took time to post anything here. Life gets busy and next thing you know the end of the year is at hand! Last night my darling wife pointed out a lovely little rose bud in our tiny flower plot out front. The bush is was growing on typically gives clusters of buds/blossoms, but here was one little bud opening up in the late afternoon. So we got out the Olympus OM-D E-M1 with the 60mm macro lens and I messed around a bit to get the settings I wanted. The first couple of takes were too dark but this shot captured the soft lighting and colors quite nicely.

Then this morning we were out front doing some chores when I thought to take a look at the same blossom. It’s amazing what just a few hours can do to a rose bud. There was a bit more light, but the real change was in how the bud had opened up since the night before.

Since I had the camera in hand I wandered across the street to see what might be seen among the flowers planted there. Here are a few of the snaps I captured.
